Hatches at the 4UR are often prolific but, of course, vary year to year. Early season sees Salmon Flies along the Rio Grande and through the ranch. Typical western hatches occur throughout the summer. Terrestrial patterns bring trout up through August. Caddis are a major trout food source here. Streamers work all season, and are ideal for Walton Pond and Lost Lakes. Two through five weight rods are ideal.
